RON TROY: A Million Acres of Dirt: How a Small Non-profit Is Making Big Strides in Conserving New Mexico’s Land Heritage
Tuesday, July 17
4:30 to 5:30 pm
Ron Troy and Connor Jandreau will talk about New Mexico Land Conservancy’s mission of “Preserving New Mexico’s land heritage by helping people conserve the places they love,” and how their mission relates to preserving cultural sites and our clay heritage. To date NMLC has protected more than 81 properties and 178,000 acres across New Mexico and southeast Arizona and is striving to protect a minimum of one million acres by 2037. With most of our water and cultural resources located on private lands, NMLC’s expertise lies in working with private landowners in order to protect their properties from any further subdivision and development. Ron and Connor will be talking about the protection of cultural resources as well as a myriad of other conservation values that their work affords us all.
