The opening reception for A Tile & A Vessel at Finn's Gallery was a great success, with artist's works from across the country and Mexico on display. Juror Diego Valles spent Sunday morning looking at and evaluating the pieces for consideration of four prizes that were announced at the reception.
The 1st place Tad Van De Meere Memorial award went to Marko Fields for his piece Greetings from Fukushima (Tourist Ware); 2nd place went to Celia Ivon Veloz Saenz for La Serpiente y el Sol; 3rd place went toYana Payusova's piece Choice, Vessel Series; and the Tile Heritage Prize went to Cesar Elias Dominguez Nunez for Al Caer La Noche. Congratulations artists!
Diego Valles also made sure to recognize that he felt many of the works in the show deserved awards and that it was a difficult decision.
Many thanks to FInn's Gallery for hosting and sponsoring the exhibition. The show will be up through the end of CLAY Festival, Sunday, July 30th.
