Despite the concern that road conditions would be too muddy after the severe rains this week, the adventurous group that signed up for the Pony Hills Petroglyph Tour met at the Visitor Center and headed out to meet guide Ernie Valles. It was a unique chance for learning about the history of the area, the petroglyphs, and enjoy what ended up being a beautiful sunny morning.
There are more tours to enjoy during CLAY Festival for only $10 - the Monday morning Central Mining District Tour is sold out, but there is still room on the Tuesday monring Central Mining District Tour. Wednesday you can head out to the Mimbres Culture Heritage Site, and tours to learn about the mining history and geology of Boston Hill are available on Thursday and Friday. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, Syzygy will be offering free tours of its tile making facility at 10am and 2pm.
